Once again, Lyle Schools and MUGS are partnered to bring some extra joy to Lyle Families in need during the holiday. Anyone can go to MUGS and get a tag from the beautiful Christmas Tree. Any tag that starts with the letter "L" is a Lyle student. The tag will have the gender, age, gift ideas, and sized for clothing, etc. You don't have to get every item on the tag. Some folks take a tag and share it among family members or a group they are apart of to share the shopping and the expense! Gifts should be wrapped, labeled with the tag code, and returned to MUGS by December 16th. While you are there, enjoy a cup of coffee or a pastry, and thank MUGS for supporting our students, year after year.

Dear Families,
Your student will soon begin their sexual health unit in health class. We will be teaching the FLASH curriculum. FLASH is a medically accurate, age-appropriate comprehensive sexual health education curriculum. The goals of the curriculum are to prevent teen pregnancy, STDs and sexual violence, and to increase family communication about sexual health related topics such as dating, sex and abstinence.
FLASH builds skills to support young people in remaining abstinent, as well as teaching about other methods of disease and pregnancy prevention. It promotes respectful communication, and builds skills for healthy relationships
FLASH provides a protocol for teachers when answering student questions about values that includes referring student back to families to learn their specific values. As a result, students may come home with questions about the values and expectations you have for them regarding these topics. We hope this will provide a meaningful opportunity for you to talk about these important topics together.
A list of the FLASH lessons that will be taught is provided below. If you have any questions or would like to preview a lesson, please come to our parent night on October 26th from 6-7 pm. Classes will be held starting Tuesday, Nov 1st.
