Most colleges have opportunities for prospective students to visit and tour the campus to learn first-hand what the school has to offer. You get to see the campus -- the lecture halls, labs, what living and dining quarters are like, and what the surrounding community has to offer. These are excellent opportunities to decide if the school is a good "fit" for you.
In-state campus visit days are most often held in the fall and spring, but you'll find some colleges set them up for the summer and some even pay for you to get there.
Want to know more about colleges, but can't afford the travel costs? Virtual college tours are great opportunities for students on a budget, and especially during the closures brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
