Currently, Lyle School District feeds all students at no charge under the Federal Government's Community Eligible Provision (CEP).
Schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students categorically eligible for free meals based on their participation in other specific means-tested programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Read more about the benefits of the CEP here.
But, if you think your family might qualify for free and reduced price lunch (see the income guidelines in the documents below), we strongly encourage you to complete the application, because it can mean other benefits to your family. A form is provided in your student's back-to-school packet every year; please fill one out for the current school.
If you are sure your family does NOT qualify for free and reduced lunch, please complete the Family Income Survey instead. This will help the district maintain our CEP status and continue feeding all students at no cost to them. This form can be obtained at the school office.
Does Your Child Need a Specialized Diet?
The CEP program allows us to make certain accommodations for dietary needs for students that require a modification to a menu item (i.e. dairy free milk, alternative grain, etc.). Should your student require a medically required change to the menu, please have your health care provider fill out the form found here and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the main office.
