State Board Denies Waiver for 4-day School Week
On July 23 & 24 the State Board of Education met for their regular meeting. One of the items on the agenda was to consider our request for a waiver to the 180 days of school. Citing a 1981 ruling that waivers cannot be granted for transportation issues they denied our request. They did grant us the 4 Learning Improvement Days as we have had the last few years. The District will continue to pursue this issue with letters to the legislature and meetings with OSPI.
